# Limitations

- ImagePress Local is not Photoshop, a RAW editor, a restoration tool or a compression guarantee.
- JPEG is lossy; repeated re-encoding may visibly reduce quality. PNG output can be larger than the input. Browser WebP support varies on older devices.
- Decode/re-encode removes source metadata containers, but visible text, faces, reflections, location clues and other sensitive pixels remain.
- Animated WebP is flattened to the frame returned by the browser decoder. Animation editing is outside scope.
- Transparency is preserved for PNG/WebP when supported. JPEG output uses a white background.
- Color profiles and exact color-management behavior depend on the browser and device.
- Very large images are rejected before processing. A browser may still encounter memory pressure below the stated limits; the operation then fails safely.
- The batch ZIP uses the standard uncompressed STORE method for deterministic, dependency-free output. The images themselves are already compressed formats.
- The tool does not assess copyright, consent, safety, authenticity or whether an image is appropriate to publish.
